iPhone 6 Plus Connecting and Disconnecting when syncing

Possible solution! I tried every suggestion mentioned in this thread with no luck. I have a iPhone 6s Plus connected to a 2015 iMac via an official cable into the USB port closest to the Thunderbolt ports. Nothing worked until I noticed that the phone disconnected just at the point it started backing up to the mac. It even did this when I tried a Wifi sync so I knew for sure the cable, USB, hardware wasn't an issue. So I deleted the backup stored on my Mac and voila it worked first time. Looks like a backup was inturrupted or corrupted at some point.

Holy crap!! I've been having this issue since I got my iMac 27" (late 2013 model). I always thought it was my iPhone 6+ but turns out it was that **** USB port.

I have the same problem with my iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) and iPhone 6 Plus 128GB constantly connects then disconnects, connects then disconnects, ...

Matt, I am also having this issue. It's really annoying. iMac 27 inch 2013 with iPhone 6. Constantly connects and disconnects from the comp with the USB power cord that came with the phone.

AAny solutions to this. Just replaced my old iMac with the iMac 5k and have the same issue with ipad and iphones

Mine also has just started doing this. Works sometimes for my Iphone 6 but doesnt work at all when I plug my Ipad in!

I started having this problem and guessed that since I continually put my phone in my pocket, and the hole is usually pointing down as it slides in, I might have some lint in there. So I looked, blew on the hole a bit. Connected it, no problems. Check it out, might be that simple.
